Thorntree Lodge is situated on the northern banks of the Zambezi River, 15 kilometres upstream from the Victoria Falls.

Wildlife at Thorntree River Lodge

Common sightings within the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park are white rhino, giraffe, impala, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and a wide variety of birds.

Accommodation at Thorntree River Lodge

At present the lodge accommodates 18 guests.
· Seven - twin-bedded stone chalets under thatch lodges with ensuite shower, toilet and hand basin.
· One double lodge with ensuite shower, toilet and hand basin and a private deck overlooking the Zambezi River.
· One Executive Suite with ensuite bath, toilet and hand basin and private deck overlooking the Zambezi River.
All lodges have a veranda with deck chairs and a private view of the river.

Adventure activities such as white water rafting, canoeing, river boarding, bungee jumping, micro-lighting and helicopter flights etc. can be booked whilst staying at Thorntree, but at an extra cost - prices on request.
We can also arrange day trips to Chobe National Park on request.

Transfers

Clients can fly into either Livingstone or Victoria Falls International Airport where they will be met and transferred by road to the lodge which is situated approximately forty minutes drive from the Victoria Falls Airport, including customs and immigration formalities at both border posts.
The transfer is approximately fifteen minutes from Livingstone Airport.
Clients may also self drive direct to the lodge.

Age restrictions

Thorntree River Lodge is family-friendly and caters for all ages but parties with children younger than 12 are accommodated on request only.

Client requirements

If travelling from Zimbabwe: customs and immigration formalities must be cleared. Facilitation at both border posts has been organised to speed up this procedure.

Double entry visa for Zimbabwe - if required.
Return air tickets or vehicle registration particulars - if required. If clients' passport details are received by Safari Par Excellence a minimum of 48 hours prior to entry into Zambia, we will enter these onto a manifest which we give to the Immigration Department and visa charges will then be exempt. If we do not receive these details, then Safari Par Excellence will NOT be responsible for the Visa costs - these will be for the client's own account. We will require the client's name, date of birth, passport number and type (i.e. British), date of issue and expiry and place of issue.
