Travel Documents - Zambia
The below information is a guideline. Visa
requirements change very regularly and we therefore recommend that you
contact your nearest Zambian Embassy/High Commission for the most recent
information in good time prior to your departure
Entry Requirements: All visitors must ensure the following to enter
Zambia:

They are carrying a valid passport

Date of expiry should be at least
6 months after exiting Zambia

Be able to produce evidence of
outgoing travel

Be able to produce evidence of
sufficient funds for their stay in Zambia
Visas may be obtained from a
Zambian embassy/high commission abroad, from the Immigration office in
Lusaka or, with a few exceptions, upon arrival at a Zambian port of
entry (i.e. Airport or Border Post)
All West African citizens & nationals of countries below must obtain
visas from the Chief Immigration Officer in Lusaka, unless traveling on
confirmed Government business with official letters:
Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to date of
travel. Please contact local embassy/high commission for information on
the documents required

Egypt; Greece; Hong Kong; India; Indonesia; Iran; Iraq; Jordan;
Kazakhstan; Kuwait; North Korea; Lebanon; Libya; Malaysia; Mauritania;
Morocco; Oman; Pakistan; Papua New Guinea; Saudi Arabia; Sri Lanka;
Somalia; Sudan; Syria; Tunisia; Turkey & United Arab Emirates.
Members of the Commonwealth countries listed below (& depending on
reciprocity from countries such as Ireland & Romania) are EXEMPT from
applying for visas to Zambia except when traveling for business:
Antigua & Barbuda; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Botswana; Brunei;
Cyprus; Dominica; Fiji; Gambia; Ghana; Grenada; Guyana; Jamaica; Kenya;
Lesotho; Malawi; Maldives; Malta; Mauritius; Mozambique; Namibia; Nauru;
St. Kitts & Nevis; St. Lucia; St. Vincent & Grenadines; Samoa;
Seychelles; Singapore; Solomon Islands; South Africa; Swaziland;
Tanzania; Tonga; Trinidad & Tobago; Tuvalu; Uganda; Vanuatu, & Zimbabwe.

The Zambian Immigration Department has withdrawn the Visa Waiver
Program and has increased all visa fees with immediate effect. The below
charges are applicable until further notice.

UK Passport Holders:
Visas will be issued upon
payment at missions abroad & ports of entry and are valid for 6 months:
US$ 140.00 - Single Entry Visa
US$ 442.00 - Multiple Entry Visa
USA Passport Holders:
Visas will be issued upon payment at missions abroad & ports of entry
and are valid for 3 years:
US$ 135.00 - Multiple Entry Visa
Canadian Passport Holders:
Visas will be issued upon payment at missions abroad & ports of entry
and are valid for 3 years:
US$ 55.00 - Standard Visa
Scandinavian Passport Holders:
Norway, Sweden & Finland
nationals are issued with Multiple Entry visas free of charge at
missions and ports of entry and are valid for 6 months.
Danish nationals are issued visas free of charge at Zambian Embassy/High
commissions prior to travel.

For those just coming in from Zimbabwe to view the Falls, buy curios or raft
or enter for one day activities on the lower Zambezi:

Per Person
TRANSIT VISAS
- For those arriving in Zambia and transferring through to a
neighboring country in the same day should be able to purchase a transit
visa for US$30.00 per person.
