Day 1 - Start of the Island Canoe Trail. Clients can
either start this itinerary from Kariba and transfer to the Kafue river
or a short 25 minute charter to Kayila lodge for an onward boat transfer
to the start of the canoeing safari.
The Island Trail is a participatory safari where all equipment is
carried in the canoes. Tents are erected each night on a selected island
in the Zambezi river and all preparation of food and cooking is done by
the guide. Participation by clients is encouraged.
Day 2 - Island Trail - full day canoeing with overnight on a
selected island
Day 3 - Island Trail - full day canoeing and over night at the
Chongwe camp site at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi river
Day 4 - Vehicle transfer to the Royal Zambezi air strip for an
onward charter to Livingstone airport. Clients will be met and
transferred by road to The Zambezi Waterfront's Adventure Village.
Accommodation is in large bow tents, on raised wooden platforms. Each
tent has comfortable beds with mattresses and linen, fans, lighting and
a power point. There are shared, clean communal ablution facilities
close to each tent. ( B & B basis)
There are a multitude of activities to choose from whilst staying at
the Waterfront including:- white water rafting and/or river board
combos, tandem kayaking, upper Zambezi canoeing, game drives in the
Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, river cruises, aerial adventures, jet
boating, bungee jumping, elephant and horseback trails, tours of the
falls themselves and cultural visits to the Livingstone Museum,
the Railway Museum and Chief Makuni's village
Days 5 - 7 Waterfront's Adventure Village ( B & B Basis )
Price includes:- Full board on Canoe safari and bed and breakfast at
the Adventure village, air charter Royal airstrip to Livingstone and
airport transfers.
Price excludes:- airport taxes, international departure tax, visas,
laundry and items of a personal nature.
